The weekend is the best part of the week as we sit down to watch an action packed schedule of MMA. We had 5 events this weekend including a homecoming for Cage Warriors Jai Herbert at CW109 in Birmingham and the culmination of the Welterweight Grand Prix in Bellator. As always we were not short of spectacular finishes, so sit back and enjoy the best of the action from the weekend.
- Wang Junguang def. Federico Roma via TKO Round 1
Let’s kick this off with a impressive debut at ONE Championship for Wang Junguang. It could not of gone any better for the Chinese native as he landed a series of strikes on Federico Roma to make a mark in his first bout.

2. Beneil Dariush def. Frank Camacho via Submission (Rear Naked Choke) Round 1
After a first round KO loss at the hands of Alexander Hernandez last year, Dariush has now won 3 fights in a row and is back among the divisions top 15. Many thought Dariush would prove to be too much for Camacho and that was the case as he submitted him in the first round.

3. Cyril Gane def. Don’tale Mayes via submission (Heel Hook) Round 3
After a successful debut earlier this year, Cyril Gane improved to 2-0 in the UFC with a dominant performance over Contender Series alumn Don’tale Mayes. Throughout the fight, he continued to land at will and there was no response from Mayes. When the fight went to the ground, Gane once again asserted his superiority and eventually submitted Mayes via Heel Hook.

4. Sergei Pavlovich def. Maurice Greene via KO Round 1
Sergei Pavlovich made it 11 first round finishes as he dispatched of TUF 28 fighter Maurice Greene. The American didn’t have any response to the shots from Pavlovich and just like that, it was all over.

5. Morgan Charrière def. Dean Trueman via KO Round 3
Morgan Charrière has put himself right back into title contention with a KO win over former champion Dean Trueman at CW109. Charrière landed an almighty right hand which downed Trueman and referee Marc Goddard stepped in and stopped the fight.

Hometown hero Jai Herbert treated the Birmingham crowd by knocking out UFC veteran Cain Carrizosa to successfully defend his lightweight title. Herbert is now on a 4 fight finish streak and it’s time to start taking notice of ‘The Black Country Bomber’

It a battle of the two best grapplers in the sport, It was Demian Maia who came out on top against Ben Askren in Singapore. After alot of smooth transitions on the floor, Maia ended up on the back of Askren and put him to sleep via Rear Naked Choke

8. Devin Powell def. Marcus Surin via submission Round 2
