Bellator Milan: Fight to Watch

Bellator Milan is not far away and we’re in for a cracking night of fights as Bellator bring a tripleheader to Milan, Italy. Two cards are all MMA bouts, however, one is a numbered event and the other is a European Series event and both of these are joined by a kickboxing card which will have the title on the line. There’s some incredible fights taking place on the night but the one that stands out the most for me is the bout between Stefano Paterno and Ashley Reece.

Paterno is one Italy’s best fighters at the moment and he is looking to pick up a big win in his Bellator debut in front of a home crowd. In his last bout Paterno lost his Cage Warriors Welterweight crown against Ross Houston via split decision. THe hard fought bout was an absolute barnburner and certainly one to watch back as both men went to war inside the cage for 5 rounds.

Prior to that very close decision loss, Paterno was unbeaten in 8 bouts, 7 of those were victories with a draw wedged in there too. Every single one of those 7 victories were a finish and he picked up titles in two of those as well. He has also avenged all of his lossed except for one and that is his loss to Ross Houston. His exciting fight style and toughness makes him one to watch whenever he is in a bout.

Across from him will be Ashley Reece, an Englishman who’s entering enemy territory for this fight. Reece has two fights under the Bellator banner so far, both of which he has won. He now takes a massive step up in competition for this fight. Reece is an all-round fighter, he can mix it up nicely, however, it’s his striking where he shines. He’s going to be a major threat to the Italian on the feet but considering the durability and toughness of Paterno, that’s what I think is going to make this a top fight.

It’s got the potential to be fight of the night and is certainly one you don’t want to miss.
