Cage Warriors 101 results: unfortunate injury brings the main event to an early end

Cage Warriors 101 is in the books, the main event of the evening though, did not end as anyone hoped. Liverpool fighter Tom Aspinall defended a kick from Sofiane Boukichou which resulted in Boukichou’s leg breaking. It was very much an unfortunate way for the night to end. Hopefully Boukichou recovers well and both men get a chance to showcase their skills as soon as they can.

The co-main event did not disappoint, Tim Barnett got back to winning ways after picking up an a big victory over Adam Ventre via KO. Prior to that Manuel Bilić was in action against Bryan Creighton. The fight ended in bizarre fashion, Bilić went from being deducted a point for headbutting his opponent while on the floor to being stood up to knocking his opponent down and submitting him. All in a matter of seconds. It was a crazy turn of events that showed how things can change in a matter of seconds.

Mick Stanton impressed with a dominant grappling display and Madars Fleminas scraped a decision victory. The prelim card fight between Ian Garry and James Sheehan deserves a mention too. Both men put on an incredible fight which earned them both contracts with Cage Warriors. Ian Garry was the more dominant fighter and looked incredible in his debut while James Sheehan showed his outstanding resilience and toughness in a hard contested bout.
