On the rise: Aidan James

On the rise is MMA Latest’s series of articles which takes a look at fighters with 5 fights or less who are major prospects and have the potential to go far in the sport. Be it in the UFC, Bellator, ONE Championship, KSW or any other major promotion, this does not focus in on one specific promotion as an end goal and looks at fighters across the globe.

Part 3 of the series features a major Welsh prospect in Aidan James (4-0). Wales itself is being put on the map in recent times with so much talent coming out of the country and Aidan James is another on that list. As an amateur, he represented his country at the IMMAF European and World Championships. Upon deciding to turn pro he had one fight in Adrenalin until he was signed to Brave CF where he’s been on an absolute tear.

James is one of the most well-rounded fighters in Brave CF and he has yet to go the distance as a pro, finishing all of his four fights. His Brave CF debut saw him finish Tommy Martin with punches in the third round. Following a big debut, he submitted former bantamweight title challenger Frans Mlambo.

After defeating one of the brightest fighters in Brave CF this set him up with a match against Jalal Al Daaja. A fight which did not take him long to finish as he dismantled his opponent with ease, finishing him and potentially setting up a title fight.

Despite only having 4 pro fights, James could become a world title holder in only his fifth bout if granted a deserved shot at the belt. Under the watchful eye of Chris Rees and training alongside Brett Johns, Aidan James yet another Welsh bantamweight that could go on to do great things in the sport. Although he has no fight booked at the time of writing, a fight announcement could be just around the corner.
