UFC 234 betting preview

UFC returns this weekend for an underrated PPV from Melbourne, Australia.

Not a whole lot of value this weekend so I’ll keep it short and sweet and as always hopefully we find a few winners.

Like I have said, prelims, are a dumpster fire so I’m going to take a few that I feel are profitable without going into great detail.

Lando Vannata v Marcos Rosa

This should be a free roll for Vannata. Rosa has an up and down record but I don’t think he’s fought anyone of Lando’s quality. Lando likes to stand and bang which can cause him to take a bit more damage than you would like, but I’m confident he gets a knockout here.

Selection : Lando By TKO $2.10

Kang v Ishihara

Isihihara could possibly be cut with a loss or draw after this fight in my opinion. He’s not lived up to his original hype, especially with his underwhelming performance in his loss to Artem Lobov. His inability to defend takedowns is the main cause for concern here. I fancy Kang to take him down at his leisure and I’m hoping he can submit him inside the three rounds.

Selection: Kang by Submission $3.25

Jim Crute v Sam Alvey

One of the better match ups this weekend, in my opinion.

You know exactly what your going to get from Alvey. He will counter and hope to win a boxing match or hit a good shot and win by KO.

I’m thinking that Crute can potentially outwrestle Alvey and secure takedowns. If he can do this I think he’s got a chance to lock in a submission.

On a card lacking value, I’ll take a punt on Crute by submission.

Selection: Jim Crute by Submission $13

Rani Yahya v Ricky Simon

Not going to delve into this too much but I’m a fan of Yahya’s submission game and keen to have a small play on him catching Simon with something. Even if Simon gets the takedowns I think Yahya can still be dangerous from the bottom.

Selection: Rani Yahya by submission $2.70

Robert Whittaker v Kelvin Gastelum

I’m very keen on Whittaker here. Think he can survive the early Gastelum pressure and beat him later on.

I think Kelvin will tire and become predictable late in second or early third. Head movement will then lack and I can see Whittaker stopping him from there.

Kelvin will be dangerous early but my money is on “Bobby Knuckles”.

Selection: Whittaker By TKO $2.50

Whittaker Round 3 KO $10

Whittaker Round 2 KO $8.5

Hope we can salute with a winner or two!
