UFC Prague Betting Preview
UFC returns this weekend with a decent European card as they debut in Prague. There are some interesting match ups especially with the return of Thiago Santos.
Let’s break it down and try win some cash!
Damir Ismagulov V Joel Alvarez
I am confident that Ismagulov gets the victory here. He’s riding an impressive win streak and got the job dome in his UFC debut. Alvarez has been fighting in some low key organizations and I think Ismagulov experience will be enough to get him a win here. He’s bigger odds than I had expected.
Selection: Ismagulov Win $1.40
Michel Parezes v Ismael Naurdiev
I’m a big Parezez fan in this one. He will soon have to start getting someone ranked to fight as he is steam rolling his way through opponents at 170 and 155, where he struggles to make weight.
From what tapes I have watched, Naurdiev, has little take down defence and that’s a bad thing against a takedown machine like Parezes. I think he takes him down at will and possibly get a win inside the distance.
Selection: Parezes win $1.25 Parezes inside the distance
Daniel Teymur v Chris Fishgold
I think that Fishgold’s cardio can win him this fight. Teymur has steady hands but usually blows all his cardio in round one. Fishgold is a good wrestler and has a decent ground submission game. I think he can weather the early Teymur pressure and grind out a win in round two or three by submission.
Selection: Chris Fishgold $1.50, Fishgold by submission
Carlos Pedersoli v Dwight Grant
Not a big fan of Pedersoli to be honest. Thought he was lucky to beat a few in Cage warriors, especially the Dalby fight. I think holes in his stand up game that Grant can exploit. Grant was on the receiving end of some home cooking in his loss to Zak Ottow for me. He has smart hands and I wouldn’t rule out him catching Pedersoli with something. He’s a good play at the plus odds.
Selection: Dwight Grant $2.20, Grant By TKO
John Dodson v Petr Yan
Best fight on the card for me. I absolutely love the way Yan fights, he’s such an explosive fighter.
It will be interesting to see if Dodson comes forward to meet him. Despite Dodson’s experience in big fights, I think Yan wins this by decision with the better boxing and some takedowns thrown in.
Selection: Petr Yan $1.40
Jan Blachowicz v Thiago Santos
I’m very much torn between both fighters in the main event. Santos has been on a tear since moving up and looked very good defeating Jimi Manuwa last time out. He showed that he has a great chin in that fight.
Blachowicz has been on fire himself, he’s on a four fight win streak and has the more experience at the weight class. No odds available at time of writing but I think this one finishes early. I’ll take the fight not going the distance here and a small punt on that it ends within 1.5 rounds.
Selection: Fight doesn’t go the distance, finishes under 1.5 rounds.
