Yoel Romero vs. Paulo Costa scheduled for UFC Miami in April
The UFC will make it returns to Miami, Florida this year in April. After nearly 16 years of absence, the UFC is planning its comeback with a bang. Yoel Romero and Paulo Costa have been slated to fight each other two times in the past. One time it was for an injury to Yoel the other was in injury to Costa. Both men agreed to wait for each other, and it looks like they are doing exactly that.
It is rumoured that the Miami card will be the UFC’s third card on the big ESPN network. Yoel Romero was 8-0 in the UFC until he went 1-2 in title fights. In the one title bout that he won against Luke Rockhold, he missed weight. Therefore forfeiting his chances to win the title in that fight. Paulo Costa is 12-0 on the other hand, and 4-0 in the UFC. With his two most recent wins coming by way of knock out against Johny Hendricks and Uriah Hall. Romero will without a doubt be Costa’s biggest challenge to date. Although Romero has missed weight for middleweight and has expressed his want to move to 205, it seems at least for now he will be staying at middleweight.
The fight is looking to be slated as the main event in Miami. Comes to no surprise with Romero being a resident of Miami, Florida. His nationality is Cuban, and everybody knows Cuban fighters will always have a huge following in Miami. It is reported that the card will take place in American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida. Also known as the home of the Miami Heat.
