10 of the best finishes from this weekend
This weekend was absolutely insane. It was a fight fan’s dream, from Friday until Sunday there was almost a constant flow of high level fights. Between MMA, Kickboxing and Boxing we were simply spoiled. For those who are still catching up on them all, you are not alone. I’m sure there is plenty in the same boat. Anyway considering all of the events this weekend, we’ve put together a list of all the best finishes from the weekend. Not every clip was able to be found through social media, so the list could be missing some. Regardless of that we are not short of finishes so sit back and enjoy.
These are in no particular order but get in touch to let us know which tops the list for this weekend.
1. Ray Cooper III def. Chris Curtis via TKO/KO – Right Hook
Let’s kick things off with the PFL playoffs. This was a crazy event for lots of reasons but overall a solid night of fights. PFL certainly got a lot more traction than usual as their popularity continues to grow. We witnessed probably the shortest retirement in MMA history on the night. Chris Curtis came out of retirement, following his initial decision earlier in the night following a loss, to fight in the co-main event. Unfortunately for Curtis, things did not go to plan in his come back as Ray Cooper III knocked him out with a huge right hook.

2. Shaun Luther def. Martin McDonough via KO/TKO – Punches
Fighters in Cage Warriors weren’t working overtime on Saturday. Only 2 fights went the distance, an amateur bout and the Main Event. There is so many finishes in from the event to choose. This one is good way to introduce that card though as Shaun Luther tees off on his opponent from all angles to get the finish.
Precision.
Timing.
Power.

3. Josh Reed def. Ivan Ziadr via Submission – Bulldog Choke
We might as well stick with Cage Warriors and add our first submission to the list. Josh Reed impressed in front of a home crowd in old school fashion with a rare Bulldog Choke to get the win.

4. Niko Price def. James Vick via KO – Up kick
This one needs no description, many have either seen or heard of this finish. Niko Price’s upkick became another rare moment in MMA for fans to witness this past weekend at UFC Tampa. He picked up a performance of the night bonus for that and deservedly so.

5. Aung La Nsand def. Brandon Vera via TKO – Punches
This fight was a fantastic way to finish ONE Century off. 2 division champion Aung La Nsand defeating the Heavyweight champion Brandon Vera. It may not be as flashy but when you take a step back, look at the fact he just defeated yet another champion in that fashion is enough for him to get added.

7. Melvin Manhoef def. Yannick Bahati via KO – Ground and pound
Usually with ground and pound it’s downed opponent unable to anser the flurry of strikes and they are just covering up. This was not the case here as Manhoef viciously knocked out Yannick Bahati in Milan. He called time on his career following the bout and what a way to do it.
WOW! @team_manhoef gets the job done in the very first round, stopping @yannick_bahati with some nasty ground and pound!
What a finish here at #BellatorMilan.

This fight adn the final one on the list were on the same event as MMA fights, so it’s worth giving them some love too. In a Muay Thai fight on ONE Century, Sam-A Gaiyanghadao scored a huge TKO/KO victory.
