Sandhagen earned a split decision victory over heavy handed veteran John Lineker last time out. He’ll look to go one better at UFC 241 by taking out the man who seems to be the guy to beat to earn your title shot at bantamweight, Raphael Assuncao.
Since dropping to 135lbs in 2011 Raphael Assuncao has defeated every man who he has fought. His only losses coming against Marlon Moraes and TJ Dillashaw after previously picking up wins over both men.
The toughest test of his career to date awaits Sandhagen at UFC 241 but potential rewards are bigger than ever with a title shot a very real possiblity for Snadhagen. Speaking to BJ PENN.com he said.
“I hope that they give me a shot at an interim belt with either Sterling or Yan while Cejudo figures out his shoulder injury, or if he’s going back down to 125, or whatever it is he’s doing. That’s my hope. I’m going to push for that as hard as I can but it’s not in my hands”.
