Henry Cejudo was fighting for the whole of the Flyweight Division on Saturday night. Cejudo made sure everyone was talking about the 125-pound division for a while at least. He faced off against the Bantamweight Champion TJ Dillashaw. Dillashaw was denied ‘ Champ Champ’ status as Cejudo destroyed TJ in just 32 seconds.
Opening up the main card for the UFC’s first event on ESPN+, Glover Teixeira overcame early adversity to submit Karl Roberson who accepted the fight on just 9 days notice. Paige VanZant made a triumphant return to the octagon after just over a year out. She squared off against TUF veteran Rachael Ostovich. VanZant submitted Ostovich in Round 2. Next up was Joseph Benavidez who rematched Dustin Ortiz at Flyweight. They fought in 2014 with the former coming away with a victory. Once again experience prevailed as Benavidez beat Ortiz via Unanimous Decision.
After a 3-1 stint at Welterweight, Yancy Medeiros came back down to Lightweight. Waiting for him was Gregor Gillespie, who himself had gone 5-0 in the UFC. Gillespie made short work of the Hawaiian Medeiros and came away with a TKO victory with a second to spare in Round 2. In the Co-Main Event, Allen Crowder welcomed Greg Hardy to the UFC. Hardy, the ex-NFL player had a debut to forget for the controversial Hardy with him getting disqualified for an illegal knee on the grounded Crowder. He couldn’t continue and referee DQ’d the debutant.

Respect for your weight cut. I have been there and it is not easy.
